Last year, Travis and Priscilla, the owners of BathPlanet SW Virginia, approached me about helping them with their social media and website.  I had worked with Priscilla at another remodeler years ago, and I was also a BathPlanet customer.  They had used a company based on the West Coast to do this in the past, and among other things, they wanted their social media and blog to have more of a local flavor.  If you know Travis and Priscilla, they’re hard to say “no” to, so I started working with them earlier this year.  Today, I wanted to talk about my BathPlanet experience as a customer.

My Second Bathroom Remodeling Experience

I wrote about my first bathroom remodeling experience in the last blog.  A few years after that one, we decided to get our other full bath remodeled.  At the time, Priscilla was a designer for BathPlanet SW Virginia, and I had done business with the then owner in the past, so she was our first call.  After converting our prime tub to a shower, we wanted to keep the tub in the second bathroom, so we weren’t even sure if Bath Planet would want to work with us.  Of course, they did!

We scheduled an appointment for Priscilla to come out for a consultation.  This next part is HUGE.  Have all of your decision-makers present for that consultation.  They’re really not just telling you that for their convenience.  Even though we had discussed the changes we wanted before Priscilla’s visit, she brought up things in the consultation that we hand’t thought about, and it was good for the three of us to hash them out together while she was there.  It’s also beneficial in case they’re running a same-day signing special or to get ahead of others in the installation line.

When she arrived, we shared our ideas with her, and she showed us some concepts on how we could accomplish what we wanted.  In the end, we settled for a new acrylic tub and walls, countertop, flooring, and fixtures.  As mentioned above, we were given a discount for signing a contract at the end of the appointment.

The Waiting is the Hardest Part (Sort of)

Priscilla immediately started ordering what we needed and kept us informed the entire way.  All we had to do was wait, but it wasn’t easy, because we were so excited about the new bathroom concept.  Once everything arrived, she gave us a call to schedule the installation.  Honestly, it doesn’t seem that long when we look back at the overall process.  The installation took a couple of days, and we had the second bathroom of our dreams.
