I’m an Apple fanboy. I admit it, but it wasn’t always the case. In fact, I used to make fun of Apple products. That all changed at Christmas many years ago. I had received an old iPod shuffle to use at the gym, and I wanted to exchange it the next day for one with more memory. When I got to the store, the associate showed me the new iPod touch, and I was hooked. You have to remember this was pre-smart phone, and being able to surf the internet with a device in your hand was amazing. I told my wife that evening that it was the first electronic device I had ever purchased, where I didn’t think to myself, “If this device just did this, it would be perfect.” It did it all. Now several iPhones, iPads, and Macs, later, we’re an Apply family.

My Bathroom Remodeling Experience

What does this have to do with bathroom remodeling? A few years later, I was handling the marketing for a bathroom remodeler. In an attempt to keep the installers busy the week of Christmas, we decided to redo my personal bathroom and report the whole experience live through social media.

Deja Vu

Just like that iPod from Christmases past, this was my chance to get everything I ever wanted in a bathroom. I’m almost 6’3”, and I’ve spent my entire life having to stoop to get under low shower heads. A rain head fixed that. I always thought vessel sinks were cool. Done! Barn shower doors were relatively new—I got one! The look of tile without the hassle of cleaning grout? Hello, acrylic! And guess what? It truly was everything I desired.
