You’ve met us at a recent home show or you’ve seen our ad and called in to make an appointment.  Now that the date and time is set, what should you expect?  How can you prepare in order to get the most out of your design session?

Have ALL Decision Makers Present at the Session

We know everyone has busy schedules, but we can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have all of the shareholders present for the appointment.  That way, everyone is on the same page from the start.  It’s important for the primary users of the new bath to have input.  Also, you never know–a special discount may be expiring or an expedited scheduling opportunity may present itself during the appointment.  If all of the decision makers are present, it is easier to take advantage of these unexpected benefits.

Declutter the Area

Again, we know life happens, and it’s hard to keep your bathroom spotless.  However, if you can pick up as many non-essential items as possible, it will make things go much more smoothly.  Think about the process of drawing a design on paper.  You would want to start out with a blank sheet and not have the distraction of other notes or doodles on the paper.  The same is true of the three-dimensional space of your bathroom.  You want it to be as much of a blank canvas for your new bath area as possible.

The designer will be able to get much more accurate measurements faster if they’re not having to try to adjust around unneeded items.  He or she might also have samples that they would like to show you during the process.  The final effect is much easier to visualize without distractions.

Look for Ideas Prior to the Appointment

Here is the fun part!  Look at websites, social media, magazines, etc. for ideas of what you’d like the new space to look like.  Capture these images on you phone, tablet, or have hard copies easily available to show the designer.  A picture is truly worth a thousand words.  Being able to show the designer what you want will go much better than trying to tell him or her.

Sit Back and Relax

We know this is a huge investment of time and money on your part, but it can be enjoyable, too.  Just follow the steps listed above to get the most out of our upcoming appointment.  If you have questions about your session, contact us at (434)384-9500.
